Income Tax Department circular states-  “Don’t delay, link it today”!

The Income Tax department has been circulating its mandatory notification for quite some time now.

The deadlines set earlier to this respect has been extended many times in past couple of years by the Central IT dept.

But, this time its final call for compulsory linking of this two prime identification card of India.

According to The Final government of India advisory to public, “It is absolutely mandatory.

One of the recent Income Tax Department circular states-  Don’t delay, link it today!

April 1, 2023 Onwards; All The Unlinked PAN Shall Become Inactive or Inoperative.”

As per the I-T Act of India, it is compulsory for all Permanent Account No-holders; except those,

who do not fall under the special exempt category, to link their AADHAAR card with the permanent account numbers (PAN) before March 31, 2023.

Otherwise,

From April 1, 2023 onwards; all the unlinked PAN shall become inactive or inoperative.”

All Those Individuals, whose PAN & AADHAAR card linking process are note done before the stipulated time frame of 31^st march 2023,

will be barred from filing the income-tax return or accessing Permanent Account No-related services.

Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) shared a social media post recently reads:

“The last date is approaching soon. Don’t delay, link it today!”

Step By Step Guide on How to link PAN card with AADHAAR via SMS:-

 1 )

You Need to First, type a message in UIDPAN format –

i.e., UIDPAN (space) 12-digit Aadhaar number (space) 10-digit PAN number.

2 )

Then you need to send the SMS from your AADHAAR registered Mobile number only to either 567678 or 56161.

3 )

Finally You will Receive a confirmation message From IT dept. regarding the Aadhaar and PAN card linking.

First You Need to Go to the official websites of the Income Tax Department of India,

That Is –

eportal.incometax.gov.in

Or,

incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in

Here You Need to Register yourself  if are not registered.

3 )

Your Default User Id shall be Your PAN card No or your AADHAAR number.

4 )

Then, You need to use your user ID, password and date of the birth to log into the PAN Linking portal.

5 )

Once you log In properly – A pop-up notification will be displayed on your screen mentioning the linking of your PAN with Aadhaar.

6 )

If  you do not see the notification, than open the ‘Quick Links’ section on the left side of the homepage.

Here you Select the ‘Link Aadhaar’ option on the homepage section.

Here You Need To Type your Correct PAN number, Aadhaar number, and your name as mentioned and Spelled in your Aadhaar card.

9 )

You need to Check the “I have only year of birth in Aadhaar card” box if applicable.

10 )

Carefully Type the Captcha code displayed on your screen to verify the process.

11 )

Once all the details are correctly filled by you match your PAN and Aadhaar records,

you will immediately get a confirmation message regarding the successful linking of Aadhaar & PAN card.

12 )

Now Your P will be successfully linked with your Aadhaar card.

You may also visit the alternative links to link your PAN and Aadhaar if the above-mentioned link do not open due to overcrowding.
