Indian Navy took the initiative to develop Medical Personal Protective Equipment (PPE),

Intellectual Property Facilitation Cell (IPFC) of Min of Defense successfully filed the patent with patent regulatory authorities,

in association with the National Research Development Corporation (NRDC), an enterprise under the Ministry of Science & Technology.

The Doctor of the Indian Navy has developed this user-friendly low-cost PPE Kit,

posted at the recently created Innovation Cell at the Institute of Naval Medicine (INM), Mumbai.

Naval Dockyard of Mumbai has already produced A pilot batch of these low-cost PPE Kits.

above all the Indian navy-developed PPE kit is highly protective because the production process using a very special kind of protective fabric.

in addition to that, the high ‘breathability’ as against other PPEs available in the market and it is more suitable for use in hot and humid weather conditions as prevalent in India,

therefore, making it the best available product in the prevailing market among the available entities.

Patented Covid19 PPE Kit— ICMR approved Testing Lab tested and validated the Navy Technology

the ICMR approved Testing Lab has tested and validated this technology.

Concerted efforts are now ongoing by a core team of Navy, IPFC, and NRDC to commence mass production of this low-cost PPE.

Eligible firms are being identified by NRDC for taking up licensed production of the PPEs on a fast track.

A very significant and urgent requirement in the fight against the Corona Virus is the need to equip our front-line health care professionals with comfortable PPEs,

which can be produced indigenously at an affordable cost without much capital investment.

The team of Innovators from the Navy is working in close coordination with IPFC;

which was set up under Mission Raksha Gyan Shakti.
